about as-siddiq
History
As-Siddiq Muslim Organization was founded by a handful of Muslim brothers who saw a need for a Masjid in the South Jamaica & South Ozone Park area of Queens. The organization started with few but has continued to grow steadily. In 1985 there were a handful of brothers who gathered to pray at a home in Jamaica,
Queens. After moving from place to place from 1987 to 1997,
Alhamdulillah, the organization was finally able to purchase the
land and property at 133rd Street in South Ozone Park (above)
with the generous contributions from many Muslims. After 7 years
at this location the organization decided to expand and improve
its facilities by erecting a new Masjid building.
Goals
The Muslims at As-Siddiq understand that the Masjid is the
cornerstone of an Islamic community and have a vision to
establish a new one with Allah's help. Inshallah, a Masjid's
main function is not only to be a place where Allah is worshiped
five times daily. The Masjid also serves as a place of gathering
and education based on the Quran and Sunnah of our Prophet
Muhammad (p). He (p) used it to gather the Muslims to inform
them about important issues and to establish a brotherhood and
camaraderie. The Prophet (p) also used the Masjid to educate his
community about our deen. As-Siddiq Muslim Organization is
striving to achieve these goals, Inshallah.
